During her career, Kate Wolf saved hundreds of reel-to-reel and cassette tapes from her concerts, radio shows, and living room sessions. Some contain songs she wrote that don’t appear on her albums, and they often feature Kate sharing the inspiration behind her songs and music. After an extensive digitization project, Kate’s family is delighted to share this history via “Kate’s Tapes” on Bandcamp. We present these recordings in their original form (with some light audio cleanup), acknowledging that they are often rough and were not recorded with intent to be released on albums. Kate’s family hopes that the historical insight makes up for these imperfections.
In celebration of Kate’s 84th birthday

More about the shows
Shows vary in length and average 90+ minutes (double the length of an LP)
The recordings include talking, tuning, applause, and other aspects typically heard in concerts and radio shows.
We’ve carefully combined tape sides into single tracks and removed silent areas.
Shows are usually a single Bandcamp “track” and are not separated into individual songs.
When known, we list names of venues, performers, songs, and authors (below and in Bandcamp).
Shows are vetted by Kate’s family and Nina Gerber, Kate’s long-time accompanist, who became a co-collaborator, arranging and producing some of Kate's albums.
We’d love to tell you which tracks are the most popular, but Bandcamp does not provide reports of downloads and streams of subscription content.
If you have questions or encounter any issues, please contact us.
How the Kate Wolf Bandcamp Subscription Works
Every month, Kate’s family adds a new show (aka track) to the “Kate’s Tapes” album on Bandcamp. A list of “Kate’s Tapes” tracks appears below
All subscribers have access to all of the “Kate’s Tapes” albums and tracks, including those we posted prior to their subscribing.
If a subscriber cancels, they retain access to tracks that were available during their subscription.
Note: a subscription does not include access to Owl Records’ catalog of albums, which includes all the albums that Kate released. (Subscribers receive a discount when purchasing these albums.)

Acknowledgements
Digitizing Kate’s huge archive of recordings and producing the Kate’s Tapes collection to life required hundreds of hours of painstaking work by Kate’s family and musical colleagues. We’d like to thank Nina Gerber and many others, including Lou Judson who mastered the shows in Kate’s Tapes. Lou engineered shows at the Freight & Salvage for 26 years and ran live sound on some of Kate’s radio shows and concerts. Contact info: loujudson @ mac.com at Intuitive Audio.
